- Getting advice from Mapquest that probably trimmed twenty minutes off the drive each way.
- Lots of time spent with good friends I don't see often enough, and lots of hugs.
- Quite a few impressive costumes, including one woman who did a fantastic job, with costume, makeup, and performance, of portraying one of the statues from the "Blink" episode of "Doctor Who".
- A Saturday evening concert set, with signing from
- Having a room entirely to myself Saturday night, and not having to pay for it, as I had enough Hyatt points built up to cover it. (This morning, I first tried to check out using the express kiosk in the lobby. It showed a room charge on my bill. So I canceled that and went to the front desk. The young woman there looked up my room, and said "Yes sir, we show it as paid for with points. What happens is that this hotel bills the Hyatt Gold Passport program." I said, "I guess the kiosk got confused." She answered, cheerfully, "That's why I have job security.")
- Getting spending money for the week by selling ten more CD copies of "Tusks Are Optional", five to Bill Roper, five to Juanita Coulson. (Other dealer inquiries more than welcome. :) )
My next con will be Confluence in late July.
