Cox is a smart guy and charming, plays the game well, but is WAY to right, even by Michigan Republican standards.
Cherry is inert to me, which means your average guy who doesn't follow politics doesn't know anything about him.
I just saw a poll saying that most Democrats in Michigan would like to see Debbie Stabenow run for the big chair, something like 49% of people polled... not sure about that either
