filkertom noted, the Oscar nominations were announced today. But let's not forget that other set of important movie awards, the
Razzies, or Golden Raspberries, for the worst of everything in film.
I'm happy to say that of all the nominees in all the categories, I've only been subjected to one: Kate Bosworth was nominated for Worst Supporting Actress for her work in
Superman Returns.
So what's the worst movie, and worst performance, you saw in 2006? I managed to avoid all the really sucky stuff, but my biggest disappointment was
The Science of Sleep. Written and directed by Michael Gondry, who directed the wonderful
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, it proved yet again the importance of a good script. The visuals were beautiful, but the movie was incoherent.
